About Us

Rising India Research Foundation (RIRF), a Section 8 non-profit founded in 2013 by Dr. Girish Lad, works for women’s empowerment and mental health. Our initiatives address illegal sex determination, female foeticide awareness, and research on the well-being of working women with the Maharashtra State Commission for Women. We began our mental-health work with the Marathi play Kasab Aani Mi and later partnered with the Texas School of Mental Health, USA. RIRF also founded the world’s first Center for Psycho-Oncology, offering mental-health support to cancer patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Supported by government bodies, NGOs, and volunteers, we continue to work toward a mentally healthy and equitable society.
