Geeta &
Stress Management
In the ancient epic of Mahabharata, approximately 5000 years ago, a critical moment occurred
on the battlefield. Arjuna, a warrior, found himself in a state of confusion and hesitation
regarding whether he should engage in combat against his own relatives and friends. It was
during this pivotal juncture that Lord Shri Krishna provided guidance and imparted profound
wisdom to Arjuna, thus narrating the Bhagavad Gita. As a result, Lord Shri Krishna emerged
as the world's first counselor, offering invaluable advice in a time of moral dilemma. The
Bhagavad Gita, therefore, can be regarded as the inaugural counseling guide, serving as a
source of timeless wisdom and guidance for individuals facing challenging decisions and
situations in life.
Dr. Girish Lad has dedicated his studies to exploring the diverse versions of the Bhagavad
Gita, an ancient sacred scripture from India that imparts profound wisdom and guidance on
various aspects of life. Dr. Girish compares the teachings of the Gita with modern mental
health concepts and its applicability in the modern era, he has developed a program called
"Gita and Stress Management." This program aims to demonstrate how the timeless wisdom of
the Gita can be applied in today's world, specifically focusing on its potential to reduce
and cope with stress when implemented in real-life situations.
